Announced in May, the Almond 3 is a combination mesh network router combined with a smart home hub. Packaged as a “Smart home Wi-Fi System”, the Almond 3 is designed to provide better wireless coverage, thanks to its mesh networking capability, while helping home-owners control their home’s smart devices.
Securifi’s Almond 3 is Amazon Alexa compliant, allowing home users to use voice commands to run smart devices like Echo, Nest and Zigbee devices setup across the house. These verbal commands, for example, include blocking Wi-Fi access or enabling the guest networks.
Setting up an Almond 3 is done by using the free Almond App on your mobile device, or via the Almond 3’s touchscreen interface. For advanced uses, customers can use Almond 3’s rule engine and IFTTT integration to create automated workflows that work with third party products and services.
Introduced alongside Almond 3, Securifi also adds Almond Click to its product line. Small enough to fit on a keychain, the button uses three actions – press, double press and long press – to trigger automation rules, switching smart devices on and off, or a panic button that sets off the Almond 3’s built-in siren.
The Almond 3 is available now as a single product for $149.99, or in a bundle of three for $399.99. The Almond Click comes in a three-pack costing $29.99, and is available for pre-order now – shipping in December.
