Hi,
I read the initeresting overview from Doug Reid regarding Servers alive and how to configure an XP server through a Firewall.
I was wondering if anyone had any previous experience of configuring Servers Alive to an Unix or Linux (Solaris/Redhat) host using SNMP.
To cut a long story short, the add-on's from the website allow monitoring of filesystems, do some pings etc but we would like to monitor Network Interfaces for example.
I presume the only way to do this is via SNMP (traps) which we have been testing but come to a standstill as Servers Alive onloy seems to accepts snmpget's not snmpwalks which is what we presume we require.
Apologies for the not very detailed description but if anyone has configured SNMP from *nix on Servers Alive any response would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
