New Around Here
Hi everyone,
I live in Japan and got ethernet cabling wired into my new house. I was therefore able to put my modem and Asus AC68u router into a cupboard in the hall out of the way. The LAN port in the living room feeds a switch which feeds the TV, Playstation, Raspberry Pi (Xbian) and Apple TV. I use a VPN to watch Netflix, etc.
It all worked fine, until recently when we got Japan's IPTV service, called 'HikariTV'. It uses IPv6 to access the fiber network. NTT (the company which provides WAN access and IPTV) installed their own router modem for this. The IPTV box is on the same switch as the TV, playstation etc and it only works if that cable is plugged directly into one of the NTT router's LAN ports. If it is plugged into the Asus AC68u, it fails to connect.
I would like to be able to plug the IPTV box into the AC68u router so that I can use my vpn on the playstation etc, without having to swap cables every time. Is this possible through the AC68u's IPv6 settings? I have tried enabling it and tried a few options, but the IPTV box refused to connect. I haven't a clue about IPv6 so I'm hoping someone can provide some guidance? Do I need settings from NTT for that?
The NTT router is all in Japanese and I really don't want to be messing around with it too much anyway.
Thanks everyone!
