Setting up USB drive acess from host computer

I set up the RT-ac66r and can get access to the hard drive (1 TB Lacie) from my phone and tablet. However I am having a difficult time figuring out how to aacess the hard drive from my computer. I cannot currently connect the hard drive to my computer through one of the fire wire ports on the la cie drive, because my hp does not have a firewire card. The MAZE of instructions on the asus dashboard is DAUNTING. Any one have a step by step? I got lost when I went to the "USB application" / AI Disc " menu, and the window sez: "no user disc detected"
