New Around Here
Hello
currently I am looking for a NAS Solution to meet my needs.
At the Moment I am using my main PC for downloads and all kinds of long term operations and I use an USB Harddrive on my Samsung TFT (it has an USB Input) to watch my media (movies, pictures) on it.
Since carrying around this USB Drive all the time will not help its endurance, and using my high Watt consuming PC for download operations doesnt help my electric bill, I was looking for a reasonable cheap solution at some NAS.
So what I need is this:
- download client supporting (jdownloader, rapidshare, torrent)
- fast (enough!) media output for HD content.. we mostly talk about mkv files of around 10 GB per movie (1080p)
I was looking into some solutions like the Synergy 210, 210j or 211j, which are discussed controversely, but I dont really know what those people are expecting of their NAS. How does the USB Port work on them? as a master or a slave (can I connect it to my TFT-TV and use it simply as memory device?)
I would think that my expectations are rather low, since I would only use part of the functionalities, but they are very much crucial and both MUST be fulfilled.
Any advice?
Thanks a lot
P.S. the TFT TV supports DLNA and LAN. Does this mean I could play media via Ethernet?
