...when not using channels 36 to 48.

Hi,

I got two AC68U running on 380.59.
Both are HW ver. A1 as EU models.

I just discovered they won't show any 5ghz network in the site survey when they are set to use any channel higher than 48 in the 5ghz band.
Setting them back to channels 36 to 48 the site survey lists both bands correctly.

I can't remember this behaviour from the past and haven't done any survey in the last months.
Anyone here can tell something about that?

Tried some board searching about this but couldn't find anything helpful.

Sham

Maybe this is why I dont see 5ghz listed there? then again If i use a program like Acrylic Wi-Fi to scan the area I am the only person in area that has 5ghz I have like 12+ 2ghz range router out there though.

it will be because your wireless adapter doesnt have or use those channels , the asus will still be transmitting it , just your not seeing it , try another device

@pete y testing

My other hardware has no problems identifying used channels higher than 48.
It's my both AC68U that can't see them.

DFS could really be a point.
But why should it affect the scanning?

An active scan would touch and so interfere with any channel no matter what frequency you actually use.
Am I wrong about that?

EDIT
Anyone here running a version older than 380.59 could counter-check this?
I'm not sure but I believe it was different some versions ago.

EDIT 2
Made some pics...
