Hi guys!
I have somewhat strange problem with my Skynet: it seems that it's blocking github pages - i get "page not available". If i disable skynet, all is ok. If i enter "github.com" on whitelist it's ok for a while, then it's blocked again (after some weeks). It's happening quite a while now and it's getting frustrated to a point that i'm about to "kill" skynet, which would be a real pain...

Any suggestions what might be wrong? Today when i entered page on whitelist and checked it has IP: 140.82.121.4 :I live in Slovenia, BTW.

I had the same, whitelisting seemed to fix it for me. Not visited since.

Thanks, i’m almost glad that i’m not the only one…
now i kinda resetted skynet lists as far as i knew. Now i’ll see what happens. The problem i see is that when i enter this domain then skynet whitelists github on certain IP. If that IP changes then it’s not whitelisted anymore…

but, it’s still pretty strange that github is in the block list in the first place…?

Are you using Diversion? It has the github related domains that have been an issue in the past and now are permanently whitelisted. These whitelists are shared with Skynet by default.

Added codeload.github.com and maurerr.github.io to hard coded whitelist

Yes, i’m using diversion, too, alongside skynet. I looked into diversion‘s lists as far as i knew where to look i found nothing related to github into blacklist. If i want github.com to add into whitelist it says that it’s not blacklisted.
Am i correct that these lists update by itself? Or should i update them manually?
i’m not too experienced in this, so maybe i’m missing something…
i don’t know… would be removing and re-installing skynet and/or diversion a good idea?

I'm no using diversion, it was blocked again tonight, despite whitelisting it. I whitelisted again and now its ok again. However when I do view blocked domains on skynet it shows nothing is whitelisted; even though it is.

Edit, i just tried again and now blocked again, so what I have done is "unbanned it" seems to work now

Are you checking the URLs from the above @lonelycoder post? There might be other GitHub domains. You seem to be focusing on GitHub.com, but other GitHub domains might be the issue. (?)

codeload.github.com
maurerr.github.io

This similar topic might be helpful, not sure how much you have searched.
Skynet skynet blocking github for cn, nl, ru block for usa cidr block

Thanks, i've read that topic, but nothing useable came out... (github's IP here is different from the one in that site).

Today i was trying to open THIS SITE, (only as example, others similar were also blocked) and it was blocked again...re-adding into whitelist worked again. However, i forgot (silly me...) to look into whitelist before to see if github.com domain was there or not. But, if it wouldn't be there then who would delete that entry...
other domains... could be, but i mainly visit sites like above example - i'm configuring Home Assistant a lot and i read manuals and examples on author's github pages.

@BreakingDad : i tried to add domain into "unban" section, i've got this reply from skynet:
Removing github.com From Blacklist
Unbanning 140.82.121.4
ipset v7.6: Element cannot be deleted from the set: it's not added

So, how did you "unban" it?

So, how did you "unban" it?
I just typed it in, and it said "removing from blacklist"

I did also wonder if the country block mentioned above was causing it, I will investigate later.

It happened again... after only a few hours (i t worked this morning). This time i checked: domain IS in the whitelist, but it doesn't loads. RESTARTING skynet helps, page loads again.
It seems that whitelist entries are for unknown reason "forgotten" and re-read after restart...

I've experienced this kind of odd blocking issues many times and it's not Skynet's fault. It's the iplist that Skynet uses.

In my case, Skynet started to block github about one week ago. I've whitelisted the IP address of github and it worked. Just after that I've manually updated the blocking list and it started to block github. Adding github to Diversion's whitelist will solve the issue permanently but I'm tried of doing this so I've uninstalled Skynet.

Just happened again.. after only 2 hours. As a last resort i added "github.com" into diversion's whitelist. If locks again, it's going off my router (sadly, but it's a must...).

Same issue here, 386.3 merlin AX86U, with diversion. Whitelisting doesn't seem to help, but a router reboot does (for a while)

No need for router reboot, only restarting skynet already helps. Not for long, though…
i’ve had to uninstall it, sadly. It turned out that github is not the only page it blocks - my official web site of my bank is also blocked…

Happened to me to for the last few weeks.

Seems like some IP´s from there ranges are blocked.
For me it was a few IPs from their "140.82.112.0/20" range that was blocked so after adding it to the white list all was resolved.

All their IPs and ranges are available from their site.
Github IPs and ranges

The problem aren’t IP’s, but retaining those IP’s on the whitelist, or more precise: skynet for some reason doesn’t “see” those IP’s on whitelist anymore, although they ARE in the whitelist, so it begins to block them. Restarting skynet (so that it reads whitelist again) solves problem for couple of hours, even days, then they are blocked again.

I monitored github’s IP and in my case it’s always the same (written above), but after skynet restart it’s ok for a while, then this IP gets blocked again. And, it WAS still on the whitelist.

I'm having the same issue. For a few days now, Skynet isn't letting me connect to GitHub.
I have added github.com to my whitelist. Now I just checked: That whitelist entry is gone.

How do we get github.com off the blocklist or at least get that whitelist entry to stick?

Maybe someone who has access to GitHub could write up an issue there?

Has the block been confirmed in Skynet or Diversion and, if so, which blocklist?
