(Slightly) advanced net config question.

I have 2 Nics in my PC (Win7). I would like to use the second one to set up a separate local network without internet access. I will use this second network for IP cameras only. I want the cams to be completely inaccessible to any but my one PC.

Proposed:
Nic 1: > Gbit switch > router (192.168.1.1) > internet. (existing home Lan)
Nic 2: > asus rt-n12 (192.168.200.1) (radio off) (No WAN connection) > IP cameras

Questions:

1. How do I separate the 2 networks, and have access to both from Win7? Currently, when I connect the secondary network, I lose access to my Home LAN and the internet.
2. Can I somehow tell Win7 to get it's internet access from only Nic 1?

I have a security problem in the house, and the culprit may be extremely tech savy but has no physical access to my PC or wiring....

I tried bridging the two connections. I get internet, but no access to secondary network.

set up the PC with a static IP address on the camera subnet.
DO NOT SET A GATEWAY.

Leave the regular network connection as is.

thats it.

You can have both connections using DHCP and it will work fine as long as both networks are using different IP segments. Windows should automatically detect which one does have internet but in the case it doesnt you will need to go to the connection properties of the network adapter you use for cameras, IPV4/IPV6 config (depending on which you use), advanced and untick "set as default gateway". This is the easiest way to communicate with multiple networks in windows 7 without messing up your PC's internet connection.
