I'm in the process of setting up my Plex Media Server which is a dedicated FreeNAS machine on my home network. I've been ripping DVDs/Blurays on my desktop and then transferring them over to my server. I've been ripping the movies in 4K which results in file sizes around 50GB for each movie, so file size may have something to do with it, but when I transfer the files I'm getting 10-12 MB/s.

The question is, is this normal? It seems a bit slow. What can I do to speed up the transfer?

The specs on my desktop where I'm ripping the movies are Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Sabertooth X99 motherboard, i7-5930K CPU @3.50GHz, 32 GB RAM. Saving to an Intel 500GB SSD. From there, it's going to a Netgear GS728TP switch. Then to my FreeNAS box which is running FreeNAS 9.10.2 with an ASRock Rack C236 WSI LGA1151 C236 motherboard, Xeon E3-1245V5 CPU @ 3.50GHz, 32 GB RAM. I have 5 8TB WD Reds in RaidZ2 (I believe). All connected with CAT 6A cables.

I'd guess if the cap appears to be exactly that speed then one of your links is stuck at 100Mb. Have you checked the connection speed of each interface?

You're right. I was thinking it was something with the NAS, but I found a cable that I overlooked. Thought I got them all.
