I have a Billion BiPAC 7800DX router and a small home network consisting of 4 PCs. I also have a Synology 214+NAS box which I use for backups, bit of DLNA streaming to my TV and recording videos taken from my IP camera.
While looking over the settings of my Billion router I noticed a setting under management for SNMP. You can enable the agent if required and also specify a trap manager IP address.
I am curious about this setting and would be keen to try it out (mainly for knowledge on how it works) so that my router sends out messages to an SNMP manager. Is there any windows 7 compatiable software out there that I can run on my PC which would act as an SNMP management software, polling my router on demand? or perhaps having my router automatically send syslog type messages to the SNMP software on my PC?
thanks
