[solved] A kind request for RT-AX88U owners about GMAC3 mode

Hi dear RT-AX88U owners,

Could you please help me to find out if RT-AX88U have GMAC3 or not?
I have GMAC3 on RT-AC88U and it is set a limit to me when enable some etables rules in firewall.
For instance if I want to drop 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz traffic to one IP, only the rule with 2.4Ghz is working. The rule with 5 Ghz is working only if I disable GMAC3.

But what GMAC3 is doing is not very clear, and I am not very sure about the impact in performance and in product lifetime when is disabled.
And in the far future maybe I will step to the RT-AX88U.

From what I have read here on SNB Forums it seems that "gmac3 changes the internal switch configuration and CPU communication port/VLAN definitions.".

This check can be done by doing like here below on RT-AC88U where GMAC3 is present and is turned on by default:

router@asus:/tmp/home/root# nvram get gmac3_enable
1

The result is 1. If you could please let me know on RT-AX88U what is your output, I would appreciate very much.

I just checked on my RT-AX88U running 384.19 Alpha 3. No gmac3 in sight:

size: 69916 bytes (61156 left)

I understant that is no gmac3 on RT-AX88U.
In order to be 100% sure, could you please try with [nvram show | grep gmac] too, instead of [nvram show | grep gmac3]?
just to conclude that is no version of gmac, for instance gmac4 let's say on RT-AX88U.

Below is the output of the same commands on RT-AC88U, and I have added the [nvram show | grep gmac] too.

root-AC88U:/tmp/home/root# nvram get gmac3_enable
1
root-AC88U:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep gmac3
stop_gmac3=0
gmac3_enable=1
size: 69105 bytes (61967 left)
root-AC88U:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep gmac
size: 69105 bytes (61967 left)
stop_gmac3=0
gmac3_enable=1
