I own AC86U and have the latest version of Merlin running..I always wonder if the sign certificate that comes with the upgrade can be installed on the router. Is that possible to install the SHA256 that comes with Merlin? Are there any pro and cons? Can someone please provide me steps to install the certificate so my traffic is encrypted. Thanks in advance

That SHA256 value is a hash, not a certificate. It's nothing more than a signature generated from the firmware image to allow users to validate that the downloaded file hasn't been modified/corrupted.
