Stock firmware Verizon FiOS fix?

Just saw the stock ax86s firmware contains a "Verizon FiOS fix". Any idea what this is and does it effect merlinwrt firmwares?

You need 500/500 or faster ISP connection to see it. Many users with slower ISP connections don't know about it.

Oh man I hope the ZenWifi XT12 gets this soon if its the slow upload issue. It is so frustrating to have such a fast router and be throttled so severely due to some weird config between it and Fios. They need this FW update on all their AX routers unless Eric from Merlin FW can bring in this fix to his revisions.
