I have my RT-N66U configured at IP 10.4.7.1
I use ZoneAlarm firwall on my laptop.
In the log it translates 10.4.7.1 to the host name "router.asus.com".
Isn't that a bit strange?
Is there anywhere to change the DNS-name for the router?

This is the internal name for your LAN to make configuration easier. This cannot be changed, and it can only be resolved on the LAN anyway.

You can change Window's host.
(Thats what, as i am used for my router to be named home.router with Tomato and other firmwares)

C:\Windows\System32>tracert -4 google.com

Tracing route to google.com [173.194.43.67]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms home.router [10.0.0.1]
2 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms 10.104.*
3 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 24.156.*
4 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 24.156.*
5 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms 72.14.198.214
6 10 ms 11 ms 13 ms 216.239.47.114
7 11 ms 12 ms 11 ms 72.14.239.19
8 13 ms 12 ms 11 ms yyz08s09-in-f3.1e100.net [173.194.43.67]

http://home.router works as well :)
