Hi everyone, I have recentrly bought a Synology router (SRM). I installed the DNS server package (the same one that is on the NAS's I believe, based on Bind) and I am trying to do a simple configuration for my internal home lan.

- I chose my domain to be kta.local
- I created a master zone for forwarding (it creates an NS and A record automatically)
- I created a master zone for reverse (i had to add an NS record manually)
- I enabled resolution services but did not specify any forwarders (what does this mean, do I talk directly to the root servers ?)

Is this correctly configured ? Can you kindly correct any misconfigurations, or help me set it up correctly ? (I need to improve my knowledge on DNS's)

(Images are in Spanish, sorry about that, but you might be familiar with the package configuration UI)

Thank you for your time.

.local is not depreciated, it's a special use TLD reserved for mDNS (Bonjour/Avahi).

can use .lan as a local TLD perhaps...
