system log 87r

everytime I reboot(daily due to 5ghz problem) the system log completely rests itself- right now I have todays logs and logs from dec 31st(I assume original bootup as I purchased this a month or so ago).
is this normal behavior?

The router has no battery backed up clock, so the clock will always revert back to an older date on a reboot, until the Internet gets connected and the clock can update itself from an NTP server.

ty. how come logs from dec31 still show up while everything between then and latest reboot disappears?

so what u r saying is that dec31 is the default. ok. tyvm.

Because your router just booted, therefore it re-logged all those same operations.

k I got it I just looked at the logs again(had to scroll thru a bajillion 'bootp pro's") and get it now. tyvm!

You might be interested in installing the fake-hwclock to keep the clock after a reboot, it's not perfect but does the job for me. More info here
