New Around Here
Hi,
I don't know what to buy:
THECUS 4200Pro
QNAP 419P
Sinology DS409

My needs:
Network, share & backup 2 Win (XP/7) desktops, 2 WinXP laptop
Serve MP3 library
Serve as Photo library
Serve 1+Tb of HD movie files to XBOX360
Gigabit Eithernet
Ability to upgrade RAID 5 with larger drives (without taking data off)
USB Print Server
Maybe ipcam in future (with motion detection if possible)
But, last but mostly important I need a replacement for a 24/ pc with emule etc. So the software have to be: updatable (by me or producer, I don't care, but I want it to be updatable) and fully functional like standard emule.

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers

Cannot comment on the emule requirement you have, but the other functions can be handled by the QNAP or Synology boxes you are looking at.

Also look at the Netgear Readynas.

Not sure about Thecus as I don't pay much attention to their product. Their lack of good US support leaves me yawning.
