This is probably dumb, but just wanted to check about the PS4...

You got it wrong. NAT 3 is bad, NAT 2 and NAT 1 is ok/good.

PS4 Home Menu -> Settings -> Network -> View Connection Status -> NAT Type

Check whether it is Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3.

Online functionality may be restricted when playing UNDER NAT Type 3.

Haha....Ok, I see now. I assumed UNDER meant less than, not with. Thank you.

Yes, I figured that's what you meant. Don't worry, NAT 2 is fine. I think NAT 1 is when you connect directly to a modem. Very unusual these days since most people use a router.

Can console manufacturers make things even more confusing than they already were?

Was reading this blog http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/04/14/bloodborne-sells-one-million-first-1-03-details/ and it says that anything less than NAT Type 3 may hinder gameplay, but I don't quite understand what that means. Im running the latest 3xx.52_2 firmware, and have Nat and UPNP enabled, but even when I place the Ps4 in the DMZ it still says Nat type 2. Anyone have any ideas?

From my experience I would either have UPNP enabled, OR have PS4 in the DMZ(with UPNP disabled), not BOTH.
