Tim, any chance to update RT-N66U review based on current firmware?

Tim,

There's been 3 new fw releases since the 3.1.0.3.90 version you tested. Seems that many complaints may be addressed and I'm keenly interested to see if someone can get the PPTP VPN server up and running. And if so, what kind of throughput is possible over PPTP....

Since this router seems to be so popular amongst SNB visitors (heck you gave Asus their own little forum link), I think it could be worth a re-test.

I'm also curious if Asus addressed the disappointing 2.4Ghz throughput. Seems that Netgear also has a similar issue so maybe the reference code provided by Broadcom is part of the problem.

What do you say?

Judging from Forum posts, it sounds like the rate of change (bugfix) on this product is still pretty high. I'd rather wait until it stabilizes further. I have plenty of other products in the pipeline waiting for test...

My PPTPD server works fine for me, under build 108. I occasionally connect from work to my home network, using Windows 7's pptp client. However I don't do any large transfer, and my home upstream is only 2 Mbits so I can't give you any good report on its performance, sorry.

I know that build 112 added the options to let you chose which encryption scheme you want to allow on your pptpd, maybe your issue was related to that?
