When I built my NAS I used parts I had on hand, so I think its time to do some updated parts. At present the MB is a old EVGA that only supports 2GB of memory and has an Intel Core2 6600 CPU.

The LSI MegaRaid 84016E card seems to be doing fine but I may replace it also.

Looking for:
"Server" type MB
CPU
Raid card - support 20 drives.

Since the Norco case is using SAS for the 12 existing drives Sata ports on MB don't mean a lot for me - one for DVD & one for OS drive.

I have been looking at "Supermicro" but they make more MB than I can get my head around. Suggestions from personal experience.

Thanks

not many of us SmallNetBuilders can relate to a home user w/20 drives!

Mobo? Maybe SuperMicro?
