Time Machine Log

Marc

New Around Here
I had always used the Time Machine feature on my MacBook Pro by manually hooking it up to an external USB2.0 drive. I figured I'd try hooking the HD up to the USB2.0 port on the ASUS with Merlin firmware and enabled it in the settings. If it makes a difference, the backups are encrypted.

It seems to work but I have noticed quite a few "errors" popping up in the system log. I tried hooking the drive back up to my MBP to Verify/Repair disk but it doesn't seem to find any errors.

I was wondering if anyone has seen similar problems and/or if its something I should be alarmed about?

It's because you're running off the edge of the sparsebundle files... that is why you're getting the errors...

If you're going to use TimeMachine, need to start it on a host, swapping mid-stream, it'll likely corrupt your backups...

Again, however, running TimeMachine remotely, not recommeneded... unless it's an Apple TimeCapsule, otherwise, use a local mounted disk...
