TM-AC1900 stock Qos vs. Merlin?

Authority

Senior Member
After following the threads for a bit I'm unclear what (if anything) the stock TM-AC1900 QoS offers that Merlin doesn't. I understand it's supposed to be "customized" for T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling, but is that anything more than an incredibly simple rule we could do ourselves? I believe I saw that Merlin himself wrote he couldn't include it because it was proprietary code?

I don't see any T-Mobile settings anywhere in the stock firmware, in fact QoS is off by default because you need to enter your bandwidth for it to be able to reserve any.

I wish T-Mo would use Merlin firmware. We should all tweet to @johnlegere suggesting that, doesn't seem unlikely that he'd go for it!

Thoughts?

I wish someone comments on this , i have been thinking about this topic for a while .
If its not qos is it opining a spastic port for the wifi calling service ?
