New user here. I apologize in advance for any stupid questions.
I have an Asus RT-AC56U running Merlin 378.56_2 as a primary router. Lets call this router MASTER. I have an older RT-N56U connected via cable serving as an access point. Lets call this router SLAVE. The set up has been running for many months and the traffic statistics by device has been invaluable (house full of teens bumping up against the ISP limit all claiming it wasn't them).
Yesterday the SLAVE/RT-N56U decided to do a full reset all by itself - stopped broadcasting the SSIDs I had set up and basically started broadcasting an unsecure "ASUS" SSID. Luckily, said teens made me aware of this the second it happened so I jumped on and reconfigured the router.
Now this is where it gets interesting. I can no longer see devices logged into the SLAVE/RT-N56U when looking at the network map on the MASTER/RT-AC56U. I am 90% certain I could see these devices before and I am 100% certain that I could see the usage statistics in the traffic analyzer. Since the MASTER/RT-AC56U is assigning IPs, wouldn't it be aware of all devices and also gather usage statistics on them (like it did before)? My question is this: I can't remember exactly what settings I had before but it did everything I wanted - I used the quick set up to configure the SLAVE/RT-N56U as an access point this time - are there any settings, on either router, that I should be using to do what I want?
