Hey Guys,
I had some days ago some strange issue. I use a 3G Dongle with a Public IP and it worked always. At one day it stopped working and I could not reach my open Ports like ftp with the Public IP etc. I checked the firewall and the Traffic log (firewall logs the blocked packages) but nothing there at all. So open a ticket with the provider and they told me no issues and all working, but the tracert fails in the last Mile (my Modem). I also couldn't ping the IP etc. even when explicit allowed in the Firewall. I had always a lot of blocked connection in the syslog, but since the issue not even one.
I did not change anything between the working and not working time, just to clarify But what was the solution for this is almost not believable for me.
--> I needed to reset the Router and configure it from the beginning.
can someone tell me the logic behind this ? As I don't understand this and don't know how to go the next time on this when there is nothing in the logs.
frimware because of 3G issue: 3.0.0.4.374.40_alpha4
