This may get a bit long.

So I have a number of ASUS RT-AC66U I use for a roaming network. This network handles around 20 clients, and I want to make a few upgrades.

My end goal is to replace the ASUS with a pfsense router, and introduce a few VLANs, both for the wired devices and wireless. I invested recently in the RT-66Us, so I would like to re-purpose them if possible.

Optimally I would like to create 3-4 VLANs, and have the RT66U act as roaming APs with the ability to tag traffic to a certain VLAN based on what SSID they are connected to.

They all currently connect into a non managed switch, so I expect some hardware will need to be purchased.

I did find an older post framing a similar scenario, but I did not want to bump it since my situation is a slight departure from the original question there.

Any assistance is definitely appreciated. If additional information is needed please let me know.
