Hi,

I have an ASUS RT-AC66U loaded with Merlin's Beta 3 FW.

Experiment with OpenVPN Client, jffs, scripts and all seems to be working correctly.

I am now at the stage of replacing my Apple router with ASUS router.

My FreeNAS server which I have setup with Jail and sabnzb/sickbeard/couchpotato/transmission/...all working perfectly when connected to Apple router. When FreeNAS server connected to the Asus router transmissionbt stop functioning, it stuck at getting magnet link metadata.

A quick check on "peers port 51413", confirms that "port closed". I can see from the WAN-> Virtual servers/Port forwarding that the correct TCP port and correct IP is listed.

Do I need to turn on "port forwarding" or is this automatically done?

Firewall need to be changed in addition?

Thanks for the tip...

ran the script manually and got this -

Works

jippi

ran the following manually

iptables -I INPUT -p udp --destination-port 51413 -j ACCEPT

and it works now...

thanks

So by doing this, it ensures that the ports will be forwarded? Cause I have ports for my Xbox and sometimes I get open NAT and other times I get moderate but I didn't change anything

Spoke too soon

I upgraded to the latest Merlin's firmware and seems that udp not working (same error as above).

Also upgraded my FreeNAS from 8.3.1 to 9.1.1 and I have to uncheck the "use router portwarding" (do not remember exact words, but you know what I mean).

Anyway TCP is OK and I got decent speed downloading torrents...

My router IP is default - 192.168.1.1

192.168.1.105 is my "jail" on FreeNAS which hosts the following - transmission, sickbeard, couch potato, sabnzb.

The INPUT chain is only for traffic terminated on the router. For port forwarding, use the Virtual Server page on the router.
