I remember trying "Diversion" when it was called "A B Solution" but I ran into a couple of problems. The first was, my antivirus (Kaspersky at that time I think) and Firefox kept throwing up errors about untrusted certificates and secondly, my daughter told me that a few of the sites she visited wouldn't work properly because of the ad blocking. So I have a couple of questions before giving this another go:-

1) Knowing almost nothing about certificates, can anyone give me precise instructions to get Firefox, Chrome and my current antivirus products (Bitdefender on my PC and Kaspersky, which is still on my daughter's laptop) working properly so that they don't keep refusing to allow certain web pages to load, either on Windows computers or Android mobile phones?
2) If I wanted to add an exception for the ad blocking, how would I find out what I would need to put in the whitelist?

Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

start with diversion.ch. It is all there.

It is also in the diversion and pixelserv threads. Searching in those threads will answer your questions.

The certificate import is best documented on @kvic’s GitHub wiki:

Or maybe just start with the Diversion Lite, you can always upgrade to the Standard edition that includes pixelserv-tls later.
This way you don't have to deal with the certificates. Learn as you go along and when you're ready, upgrade.

Yes, I had seen that (in fact, I have printed a hard copy so I can follow it easier when setting up). However, the part I don't understand is this - is this just for information or am I supposed to enter these lines somewhere?

Diversion runs those commands, you just do the certificate import part of that page.
