At first, I thought it was ASUSWRT bug,
but then I tried the different version.
All the ASUSWRT firmware I tried,
unable to change wifi channel.
That's really strange.

In version 3.0.0.4.374.130,
I can see channel 1-14,
but unable to select,
it just keep changing
back to Auto.

In version 3.0.0.4.374.979,
I don't see any wifi channel option,
it's empty, which means it's auto.

Using ASUS RT-N56U.

Please help, thank you. :)

Hi, try resetting to factory defaults then see if you can change the channels. I can change on mine, but my system log was blank all the time until I tried a reset.

thanks for helping.

Have tried several times to reset,
but still unable to select channel.

In 5Ghz, channel selection works fine.

Here's the video, shows that everytime when I try
to select a wifi channel, it just jump back to auto.

What is your router firmware version?
I suggest to try to set wireless mode to Auto (not N only) and leave the bandwidth to 20 MHz.

Currently using 3.0.0.4.342.
Have tried 3.0.0.4.374.130,
3.0.0.4.374.239 and 3.0.0.4.374.979,
same issue...

Just tried to set Auto,
but... same issue.

Upgrade to the latest firmware.
Do a hard reset (press and hold the reset button longer than 10 seconds).
Manual configure your settings (do NOT load a previous config file), start with the bare minimal required simple configuration with at least 2.4 GHz set to a bandwidth of 20 MHz and Auto mode, and try again.

Thanks. I just followed your instruction,
and here's what I just done.

Upgrade to the latest firmware - 3.0.0.4.374.979
Hard reset, manual configuration,
leave most of it empty/default.
Straight goes to 2Ghz configuration.

In 2Ghz, set 20Mhz and Auto Mode.
But no channel selection, the list is gone,
it's just empty (auto).

That pretty much looks like a browser issue, what is the browser you use?
There are known hickups with e.g. Opera.
Try Internet Explorer or Firefox as browser to configure the router.

I'm using Firefox, will try IE.
Thanks for keep helping. :)

Hi,
After resetting, configuring do you clear NVRAM?

I am pretty sure it is some browser issue.
When I open the router pages with Internet Explorer 10 on a Windows 7 machine, I very briefly see your issue (the Control Channel drop down menu corrupted), this recovers in a split second, then shows correct.
Try another PC, check your browser for any script blocking or malware protection, make sure the browser and your anti virus allow everything from your router IP address (usually 192.168.1.1).
