Unable to flash Merlin on RT-AX56U

i have a RT-AX56u which is using the Asus stock firmware and i have been trying to upgrade to the latest version of Merlin.
I have rebooted the router before flashing and i also tried with different browsers, but after the upgrade is done the router is still on the stock firmware.
i have already tried 3-4 times, and also tried with different versions of the firmware, but no joy.

Has anyone ever met such issue? how did you solve it?

I also saw that my model is marked V2. Would that be a problem when it comes to flashing the firmware?

Yes that appears to be the problem.

Cannot flash Merlin on RT-AX56U V2

Hi, I have been trying to flash merlin to my ASUS RT-AX56U V2. I've tried rebooting, unplugging, restoring to factory defaults. It doesn't accept the flash. Is this because it's a V2 variant? I reckon this one is a special one made for China and maybe it's blocking Merlin? Or maybe merlin...
