Long story short, my router (ASUS RT-1750B1), is not capable of processing over 20D/50U Mbps over OpenVPN and my VPN provider (NordVPN), does not support L2TP or PPTP - cheers guys! So I was thinking about a way to curb OpenVPN'ing on the router and I came up with this setup:
- Install Ubuntu on my old laptop
- Connect it to the router
- Install a PPTP/L2TP server on the laptop (which I will then connect to via a local IP over L2TP or PPTP)
- Feed the PPTP/L2TP server a connection through the OpenVPN client which will also run on the laptop
- Connect the router VPN back to the laptop via PPTP/L2TP: this stage could be problematic
Is this feasible or would you suggest another way of going about it?
