Be sure to come back and tell us how you get on with it. I'd like to know as a very satisfied AXE16000 userFound cheap here on local market AXE16000 so I bought it. When I set everything up I will sell my AX88U.
I will. I got it so cheap it would be wrong not to take it, less than 100€ it looks like new bearly used, still under warranty.Be sure to come back and tell us how you get on with it. I'd like to know as a very satisfied AXE16000 user

This router is 2022 model and locked on 3004 firmware as you already know, but the price of this used one is suspiciously low... like "want to get rid of it" low. Definitely make sure you don't bring home someone else's trouble. Stock firmware for some time is a good plan.
Yeah, 10-15 years back, I used to tinker with my routers and things. But these days, I'm older and my network needs to be as solid as I can get it since internet provides most things in my household. TV, music, gaming, etc. Without that, things would get boring real quick. So if the AXE16000 on stuck on the 3004 FW permanently, sad, but understandable. It's solid and works. It's working without any problem, test it fully. I don't mind if it's stuck on 3004. As I read somewhere that asus is making 3006 for it that it's in beta or maybe those were just rumors...Will see in close future maybe there will be 3006 for it.

I read in the official ASUS FW section that there was a AXE16000 3006 FW in beta, but there's not been more since. Maybe they're having issues with getting the whole thing stable. According to Merlin, there's a lot of work to be done for it to come to the current models, so it's on just a few Wifi 7 models for now and any future machines. Keep your fingers crossed, eh?
Waiting for my ISP to connect 2.5Gb internet to see speed
Test again and hopefully yours doesn't have this issue:

Different Speed Tests Results Between Routers AXE-16000 and GT-AX6000
I just got a AXE-16000. I don't know why I get much better wired download speeds with a AX6000 compared to the AXE16000. Is it because my Comcast IP changes? It must be. This is wired 2.5Gps wire LAN connected properly. I have tried setting the 16000's WAN port to the 10G port and the 2.5G port...www.snbforums.com
