Upgraded from GT AX6000 to BE96U

Find the Door

So I was having issues with my GT AX6000, my neighbor had a Tuya smart device that was constantly trying to connect to my AX6000 (10 times a second) for an unknown length of time. I found the mac in logs, downloaded the app and saw it was unregistered. My neighbor then registered the device, I did a factory reset holding WPS button and all should have been well.

My issues of webpages loading slowly persisted. I then swapped it out for a BE96U and wow what a difference. Everything is snappy quick now via hardwired or wireless.

Why is this? I thought the GT AX6000 is still very capable?

I do have 2.5 gigabit down and about 300 up. Is that just too much bandwidth for the AX6000 to handle, or did the constant pinging take a toll on the CPU over time?

Take a toll over time? No.

You should have used the Wireless MAC filter to block that Tuya Smart device. I've had the same "problem" with an unrregistered Tuya device for some time. Just blocked the MAC and no more issues!

I did that, and changed my SSID to hidden and changed network name after reboot.

I think something was genuinely faulty with my GT AX6000 as throughout the day it would progressively slow to a crawl
