UPnP bug?

Loeribas

New Around Here
I am monitoring my data usage on my computer. I am only interested in the internet traffic (WAN).
The program uses UPnP to gather its data. The ASUS RT-N66U does not support SNMP.
The strange thing is, that I also see my local / LAN / WiFi traffic.
According to the UPnP spec, it should only be reporting WAN.
Is this a bug in the ASUS UPnP implementation?

I don't see how UPNP can be used to monitor traffic. UPNP is mostly designed to allow applications to forward ports automatically. What application are you using?

SNMP can be installed through Optware.

I just tried using the miniupnp client from a Linux VM. I'm not sure how reliable those statistics are, they are probably more intended for troubleshooting than reliable tracking. For instance, it reports that my downstream is 10 Mbits when it's in fact 30 Mbits.

In any case, this is something specific to miniupnpd and not the firmware itself.

You will probably get far more reliable statistics by using SNMP.

Any guides/articles/examples of how to use SNMP with these routers? I am having a heck of a time. For instance, how can I query the up time?!
