UPnP/DLNA Server on RP-AC68U not work

agodng

New Around Here
Hi to all, this is my first post
I have a Asus RP-AC68U Repeater with latest firmware 3.0.0.4.382.10513
configured as AP and a 16 GB usbkey sandisk,

my problem is dlna/upnp not detected by my device (samsung tv and 3 pc windows)

i tried all:

Meanwhile I reset to factory settings after updating the last firmware, and I turned off dhcp server by telnet (i have another router connected with dhcp server)

All work perfectly, wifi, download master, samba, aicloud,
but no dlna server is seen from pc network resources

I tried to format the usbkey in fat32 / ext2 / ext3 and ntfs
I tried to change port from 8200 to 9500 by telnet on minidlna
I tried to set a specific path for the media files
I checked in minidlna.conf the db path and this is written correctly on the usbkey .minidlna/files.db

sincerely do not know what to try anymore ..

I had installed the usbkey only for dlna, someone has an idea does not work

Thanks in advance

P.S. - I have attached a log file under usbkey ".minidlna" folder:

I can see no reference on the Asus website that says the RP-AC68U has a DLNA server.

Also, you said "I turned off dhcp server by telnet". You shouldn't need to do this, in AP mode it should already be off.

Hi, yes have a upnp server media (https://foxnetlab.com/index.php/16-...ireless-bridge-and-access-point-asus-rp-ac68u)

No the dhcp server in AP mode is always active

if i connect in telnet:

#nvram show all|grep dhcp_enable_x
dhcp_enable_x=1 (this cause conflict with my cisco routere dhcp server because serve same range of ip)

when I set
# nvram set dhcp_enable_x=0
# commit
all woirk perfect dhcp client obtain ip from cisco (correct)

but someone has an idea how to fix the problem of upnp

why??????

I finally solved this problem :D
simply downgrade the firmware to previous version 3.0.0.4_378 with asus recovery image tool
now all work ok (I was getting crazy about how many tests I did)

someone knows how to remove the new firmware notification as attached???

I created an account just to answer this. My UPnP media server on the RT-AC68U was working fine before a firmware update. The router was connected by USB 3 to an external HD. I could see videos on my LG TV and other devices. Stopped working after a firmware update. The devices could see the router but couldn't find any content. Found the issue.
Seems the update changed a folder name or path.
I re-created the media server directory entry (click on the path, browse to the desired folder). Before it was pointing to /mnt/sda2/Files
For some reason, the folder changed name. When re-creating I found it was now /mnt/Shared_Drive/Files.
Possible solution: check your media server directory / file path.
