Hello. I found a few threads here that touched on the topic on previous builds but seeing the absence of threads specifically for tethering devices that:
1) run off of US telecom towers
2) are GSM (T-Mobile, AT&T, and respective MVNOs)
I figured that those who looked to do to this have succeeded in doing so, hence the lack of reportage. Either that, or I've devised yet another one of the tall orders I impose on devices not suited for such use.
But myself being technically challenged, I was wondering how to setup Merlin's fork to get an AC68U (or in my case, the TM-1900 variant) to access the internet via the USB tethering module. I currently have optware installed so a more automatic solution would be appreciated, if need be. Or if it's a matter of running a script off of the jffs partition, I'd obviously appreciate a script for that as well.
The "tell us the problem, not your solution" version of the above query:
I'm trying to use the router to share my T-Mobile USA internet connection but cannot.
Unfortunately, there may be a chance that solutions applicable to my situation are limited to advice linked to version 380.58, as my CFE is borked and to flash another version would involve me rolling the dice in bricking my device via hex editing fun. But, I'm going to wager that this "chance" is very slim as I imagine a solution based on a script, optware package, or configuration setting on the web UI will apply generally across versions of the same firmware.
Thank you!
