Hi,

Just upgrade the firmware to 3.0.0.4.380_1842 on my RT-AC680U. After the upgrade had problems with devices not connecting to 2.4 ghz wireless. The 5ghz was fine.

Checking the system status on the router showed the cpu and storage were all fine for a few minutes but then cpu and storage maxed out for some reason. To get around the problem I reset the router back to default and all seems well now.

My question is with the 3tb usb drive I have attached which doesn't stop spinning now which it did before. The drive has about 2tb of data on. I ran a check on the drive via the router which is ok but the router is now says it is syncing the device but I don't know what it is syncing with. It is also taking ages syncing with whatever it's syncing with but I assume that is because of the amount of data. I guess that's why is not spinning down either until it stops syncing.

I don't had Smartsync running but do have samba shares to a number of PCs.

Any ideas what it's syncing with or is it just building a table of some sort?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.
