I have an Atom box that I run a small home server on with Win 2008 R2. I dont need to be on there phyisically much but I have a screen attached.

I'd like to get rid of the screen and stick the box under a bed, while using a USB-connected screen in the even that I need to be directly on the machine.

Can anyone recommend such a screen that would be basically compatible with Window 7/Win 2008 R2?

Why don't you just use Remote Desktop and control it from one of the other PC's on your network? I just access my server via SSH, works great. :)

I was able to set it up by enabling remote Desktop services on the server, then using the built-in Remote Desktop client on a laptop running Windows 7. Thanks!

No problem! I just prefer that method, as it's a lot cheaper to utilize existing hardware than it is to spend a couple hundred dollars on a new monitor to maintain your server. Uses less power not having a monitor if that means anything to you as well :)

After some couple days of use, I can see that the RDP is nice, but I still need to have a compact USB screen that I can keep with the server for the occasions that I do need to be there physically.

So the search is still open for the USB screen. Anyone with info please let me know.
