I'm switching from a Windows desktop PC and Windows laptop to an iMac and a MacBook Pro. Like the Windows machines, both Macs will be connected via my home network with my Asus RT-AC68U router. I want to take either the Windows laptop hard drive or the Windows desktop hard drive and turn it into an NAS drive.
My RT-AC68U has a USB port, and it offers four USB applications: AiDisk, Media Server, Network Place (Samba) Share Service, and FTP Share Service. I'm guessing that I'd want to plug the NAS drive into the router's USB port and use AiDisk--is that right?
