New Around Here
I recently acquired a DS214+ with two Seagate NAS 4 TB disk. Everything is great, I am happy with my purchase. However, now I saturate the single 1 Gbps and I feel there is still some capability left untouched. I know about link aggregation but I have an 8 ports unmanaged switch.

I have 2 desktop PC with wired 1 Gbps interface that can saturate alone the NAS 1 port interface when downloading or uploading large files . I have numerous wireless devices but, as expected, they will not saturate the NAS interface.

Here is my question. Can I connect the NAS two 1 Gbps ports to my 8 port Gbps switch and assign two IP to the NAS? On one PC, I will mount shares using NAS IP #1. On the other PC, I will mount shares using NAS IP #2.

My goal here is to be limited by the NAS disk/processor and not by one 1 Gbps interface.

Thanks
Leo
