Using DSM 4.2?

With DSM 4.3 in beta, I'm wondering about updating from DSM 4.0 to 4.2, skipping 4.1.
I don't favor upgrading just for the heck of it, but my 4.0 won't run the Photo slides show app due to the age of 4.0. And our new iPad inspires me to get the photo slide show going with the large collection of family pix.

Otherwise, I've had no issues at all with 4.0.

I read the user forum for Synology, which is biased to the negative since people without DSM problems tend to be silent.


Anyone here make such a move to 4.2?

hearing nothing... I doubly-backed up all files.
Did the < 15minute update from DSM4.0 to DSM4.2.
No errors, no issues.
Happy now that the latest photo viewer works OK on the NAS, Win 7 PC and iPad.
