Hi, I have a wdtv live smp and win7 pc connected to a RTN16 router ( using latest merlin FW).

I have a usb HDD connected to the router usb.

I set up a SMB share with username/password and permissions for some folders on the usb hdd.

I could log into the router with the wdtv and pc using the new username/password and see the shared folders.

But I had trouble streaming some videos to the wdtv, so I want to enable NFS.

But I have no idea how to set up NFS on the router, as the page for it is very different to the SMB setup page.

The WDTV couldnt write to the shares, so I added "rw" to the options field, and that worked.

But now, all of a sudden, the WDTV just freezes, and disconnecting power is only option.

Is this from the NFS setup, anything else I must add to the options?

I looked in the system log, but it doesnt have much info of around the time is freezes.
The only thing that looked out of the ordinary was "kernel: nfsd: peername failed (err 134)!".

Also I have upnp disabled, anything that might be the cause of this?

NFS support on Asuswrt-Merlin is highly unstable on MIPS devices. See if your router actually crashed and rebooted - if it did, then that's the cause of your problem.

Nothing that can be done about it, I tried to figure out what was happening months ago, and I couldn't - this is kernel-level stuff, outside of my expertise.
