Using Unotelly smart DNS and OpenVPN at the same time

Dear all,

I could successfully configure UnoTelly DNS and Private internet access openVPN independently on my ASUS RT-AC68U router with latest merlin firmware. I must admit that I liked merlin firmware way better than messy DD WRT set up. Thanks to the developers of merlin :)
My question is I want to set up both things simultaneously. When I configure openVPN client and then change WAN DNS , i am not able to connect to DNS properly. I think something in my OpenVPN client set up is bocking the DNS address I provided. My OpenVPN client set up is very similar to Tomato firmware. Can someone help me?
