Solved Very slow speeds on Ethernet AX-88u 3004.388.8_4

Hello guys,

Sorry I'm not used to post here therefore I'm not aware of the details you need to help me out on this one.

  • I have an AX-88u with firmware 3004.388.8_4 and am experiencing very slow speeds and high latency via ethernet to a desktop computer.
  • The router has amtm and diversion, which I think should not be the case, htop shows core still have idle time, and I have an external swap of 2GB.
  • The endpoint device I have tried even buying a 2.5G usb ethernet card and putting a cat7 cable, but the connection become terrible, I mean, I get like 1-3MB/s when transfering files, and even speedtest shows a 50mb internet connection when I have 1000/200.

How can I track this issue? What info do you need to help me out?

Thanks
Phk

I think your best bet first step would be to disconnect everything else and Reboot the router, see if that changes. I feel it's highly likely some other device on your network is causing this or a bad setting on the router.

You probably have a termination issue or cable flaw with your CAT 7 . Could be a port issue also. Could be compatibility between two different 2.5 Gbit ethernet chipsets as well. Some of the Intel chipsets are known to have issues.

Hi guys, your suggestion worked just right, I'm ashamed. By looking physically to the router, I found 2 old ethernet cables on port 1 and 2 connected to the NAS also on port 1 and 2, and had bonding still active on the NAS side.
Unplugging one of them, made my PC port 8 turn to 1GB and the overall speedtest over wifi, aimesh node, and cable is back to what's expected.

Thanks

slowness isn't the only thing you'll encounter in this scenario, wifi devices reporting wrong password, and no route to wan generally does too.
