My VLAN setup has been working fine for a while. I decided to add a VOIP VLAN to the mix but its not working. Let me know if you see any problems with this setup.
Router/Switch - Zywall USG20
Smart Switch - Dlink DGS-1100-16
Obi110 VOIP
Samsung BluRay
Two VLANS, VOIP 100, LAN 736.
Both VLANs are in the same subnet 192.168.0.x
Obi110 ---- ----(100) port3
Dumb Switch ---Dlink ----USG Router.
BluRay ---- ----(736) port4
The Obi and the BluRay connect to a dumb switch. 1 connection from the dumb switch to the DLink. Two connections from the Dlink to the USG. One for each VLAN. The USG is just acting like a switch since both VLANs are in the same subnet.
So that is the theoretical setup. This is how I set the vlans up
1. Obi110 tags its own packets with VID100.
2. BluRay is untagged.
3. The dumb switch to DLink connection port is a tagged member of VLAN 100 and an untagged member of VLAN 736. The PVID of this port is 736 so untagged packets entering it should become a member of 736.
4. port 3 is an untagged member of VLAN 100 and connects to the router.
5. port 4 is an untagged member of VLAN 100 736 connects to the router.
I would think this would work. And for the most part it kinda does. BUT broadcast packets from Obi110 don't seem to get answered. DHCP works, but ARP does not. so when Obi110 asks who has 192.168.0.1, it does not see the response, though the response is on the network (don't know how its tagged). This kind of a long post so I will try to do more digging to narrow it down. But I'm stumped...
