VPN Setup...

New Around Here
Hi everybody,

So I run a small(!) business out of my home, and one of my clients wants to set up a test server on my lan for me to work with, but they need VPN access to administer the server. My router (Asus RT-N16) runs Tomato, so I presume that I can set up OpenVPN right on the router, but I don't want to give this client unfettered access to my entire home network.

Is there a way to set up a VPN that only gives the user access to a specific machine or segment of the network while allowing me to be able access that server from the rest of my network. I can buy whatever I need (e.g. different/another router, managed switch, etc.) within reason, but I'm having a hard time imagining a setup that would meet these needs.

Any ideas?

Thanks a ton!

All that is needed is to run a remote desktop app like RealVNC on the server and client. Then just forward the port through your router firewall to the IP address of the LAN server.
