I have a domain at Namecheap, so I'm using the DDNS feature to update one of my hostnames automatically. It's working great. I'm just wondering what the "WAN IP and hostname verification" option does. I currently have it set to "No", so it's obviously not necessary. Just curious!

It means the router will regularly check that the hostname matches the current IP, and if not it will update it. When this option is disabled, the DDNS is only updated whenever the WAN connection state is changed.
