The AP has a dual-band 4x4 radio with MU-MIMO, supporting maximum link rates of 800 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and 1733 Mbps in 5 GHz. A third radio supports dedicated Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) and RF optimization scanning.
Features include dual gigabit Ethernet ports, power via 802.3at PoE+, 8 SSIDs per radio, VLAN tagging, captive portal and MAC whitelist/blacklist access control.
Management is via WatchGuard Wi-Fi Cloud that supports firewall policy control, pre-defined user role policy, plus integration with Google for Education.
The AP420 is available now at U.S. MSRP of $1,035, which includes a one-year subscription to Wi-Fi Cloud with all services.
