WEMO and Ryobi issues post 380.65_4

Todd McMullen

New Around Here
I have a RT-AC88U that I have been updating with Merlin for some time now. I have seen some issues with all of my WEMO devices and Ryobi Garage Door Openers in any firmware past 380.65_4. I am not sure what changed, but any time I update the firmware now, I lose all connectivity to my 5 WEMO devices, and 2 garage door openers. I have reset the router to factory defaults, and reset it to make sure, but they are rendered useless after the upgrade. I can't connect to the router from those devices with anything later that 380.65_4, but when I flash back the router to 380.65_4, they start working again and connect to the router without issue.

Any ideas on why that is, or what I can to do try to restore connectivity for those devices in the latest firmware? I did a search for both but didn't come up with anything relevant to these devices. I would be happy to try whatever I can.

Did you disable Airtime Fairness and MU-MIMO?

Did you disable Airtime Fairness and MU-MIMO?
I did the first time I tried it with no joy. I tried it again, flashed, restored to defaults, and then disable Airtime Fairness and they are both working. I am not sure why they didn't connect the first time with the exact same steps. I didn't disable MU-MIMO. Thanks for the tip and the fix (feeling dumb here lol)...

If I may ask (and I will peruse the forums as well), what is Airtime fairness, and why does it need to be disabled in some cases? I did see it referenced in the Changelog, but it mentioned wifi stability. Wifi was stable, it just wouldn't allow two platforms to connect to the router.

What is airtime fairness?

Either Broadcom's implementation is broken, Asus misconfigured it, or many clients are not compatible with it - no idea. This was a recent addition by Asus.
