What are some cool things you do with your NAS (network attached storage) device?

I've been having all sorts of fun with my NAS and I feel like I haven't even tapped into an ounce of potential that this Synology NAS has. What sorts of cool things are you doing with yours besides just storing and backing up data?

LOL, ok I'll play along.

* FTP to trade files with my friends.
* Stream movies from outside the house (on the road, over at friends house, etc)
* Stream music (less important as I use iTunes Match anyway)
* Typical backup stuff
* PLEX server
* iTunes Server

Besides file serving... I broke the habit of storing data on my PCs; it's now on the server. I also put the PCs' drive image backups on the NAS.

I just Rip'd most all of my music CDs on to the NAS' music folder (Synology). then on the iPad and iPhone and Android phones, I put the free DSM app with a nice, ad-free user interface.

I want to put our family photo collection on next.

I don't wish to use Apple iTunes or cloud things.
