My advice: always go for the newest model - currently the AC86U!
...and you will have the longest time fun with it (as you did with the N66U - I guess).

I have an AC86U running latest from Merlin, best router I have ever used.

Do you have an actual reason to replace the N66? It should be just fine for the speeds you have from your ISP.

I have a 100mbps connection and an AC56 Which works great for us.

Hello

Visiting my old thread, so now I have Fibre 330/335 speeds

The Modem/Router provided is Actiontec T3200M with GOOD 5.ghz speeds but bad 2.4GHZ ( like 50s )
I have Asus N-66U which gives slower 5GHZ speeds and slightly better 2.4

I can connect the N66U directly, so I can bypass ISP provided decvice
Now I want to upgrade, at first I thought
Amplifi Router ( no mesh ) but I can upgrade later, but I see Asus also has AIMesh but I am confused what should I get?
Please advice where I can get stable speeds coz Wifi is not as fast downstairs ( townhouse )
